Halifax County Junior 4-H Camp Sign-ups are Underway!

The Halifax County 4-H Junior Camp sign-ups are now underway. A long-standing tradition for area Halifax youth has been going to Junior 4-H Camp. Camp is a time when youth make new friends, learn new skills, build self-confidence and gain memories to last a lifetime….all the while having Fun! Fun! Fun! The camping experience affords many opportunities for growth and development in social and interpersonal relationships. Campers take classes designed to build leadership skills, character, and feelings of self-worth and self-confidence.

This year camp is scheduled for June 27 - July 1, 2011 at W. E. Skelton 4-H Educational Center. Perspective campers and their parents need to contact the Halifax County office to complete the sign-up process today. Cost for camp is $220 for campers and Counselor’s-in-Training (CIT’s). Final deadline for all paperwork and payment is May 6th. Teen counselors are planning to attend a training event at the 4-H Center March 19-20 in preparation for their roles as leaders.
