Noland Village Days/21st annual Noland Country Fair Day -
On May 8, 2010, the 21st annual Noland Country Fair Day will be held in the Village of Noland at Providence, in Halifax
County. The festival is held at the intersection of Morton's Ferry, Cole's Ferry and Lake Conner Roads. As always,
there will be antique machinery, classic vehicles, arts and crafts, and the wonderful Brunswick stew made outside in
the ole' black pot along with homemade desserts.
The time is 10 AM to 3 PM. All vendors are welcomed to come set
up displays early and sell their wares at no charge. A reservation is not necessary although it is recommended that
you call 434-454-2210 to register and have a spot reserved.
All proceeds from this event are used for the upkeep and
maintenance of Historic Halifax Church, the oldest Presbyterian Church in Halifax County.
Noland Village is a restoration of an early crossroads community near Clover, VA. Come enjoy a day with Brunswick
stew, country music, crafts, antique furniture, antique farm machinery, plant and herb sales, and a house tour.
Crafters, artisans, woodworkers, antique dealers, old machinery and antique car collectors are cordially invited to
attend. Historic Halifax Church and other buildings will be on tour.

The competition invites teams of amateur engineers, mechanics, performing
artists, general goofballs, and others to create outrageous human powered soapbox carts to
race against the clock in a two block downhill sprint to the finish line. The race will be
held on June 5th, 2010 as we close down Lamar Street in Uptown Roxboro from Gordon Street
through Reams Avenue. Carts will line up for spectator viewing at 9:00 am in the Pit
area located in the Merritt Commons parking lot near the Main Street Pavilion. The drivers
meeting will start in the pavilion promptly at 10:00 am followed by the actual race.
